Your amazing body… can you fathom the intricacies and miracles that are happening even as you read this? Since before you were born, your heart has been beating. Imagine how many times your lungs have breathed oxygen in and out of your body. Your body is constantly attempting to give you subtle clues and pointers as to what it needs for optimum health and well-being. Sometimes, though, we don’t get these clues. We are so busy with the traumas and dramas of life; our busy-ness and business that our body is the last thing that gets our attention.
But what if after repeatedly giving us ‘subtle’ pointers, red flags and twinges we still aren’t listening? Would your body then be compelled to make its messages louder and stronger?
I believe that our discomfort (and even some dis-ease) is due to the lack of awareness of what our body is telling us. As we re-align ourselves to our body, we open ourselves to a higher level of well-being.
My invitation to you this week is to tune in to your sacred body. Begin at your feet and work your way up. Scan back and forth; not labeling what you find as good or bad… just noticing what it is attempting to tell you. Spend some time watching your breath; long, slow, rhythmic.
As you practice this ritual daily, you will be amazed at how ‘in sync’ your mind and body become.
